Two nights in western Sicily
Hi there,I'm going to be in Sicily in 2 weeks for the shortest of weekend breaks, arriving Friday evening and leaving Sunday lunchtime. My partner and I will be flying in and out of Trapani. We've got a car booked, but that's about it - no plans, no accommodation booked and we're willing to drive around.
Our options are obviously limited, but what do you wise people suggest we do? All suggestions welcome :)

What are you interested in?As mentioned above...1 day is very little ;-)
You could have a meal and a walk around Trapani on the Friday evening...stay there (lots of good B&Bs)...and then drive around on the Saturday.
Do you like small towns, archaeological sites, countryside, the sea (though its going to be too cold to get in it)?

Hi guys, sorry for taking so long to reply but I gave my PC a wide berth for a few days.I know we won't get to see much in a day and a half, but figured we might as well make the most of the time we have rather than waste it driving around aimlessly.
My plan was to sleep over in Trapani on the Friday night, have a look around the place on Saturday morning, and then drive to Erice and find a place to spend the night there.
Is that reasonable? Is it too busy/too sparse? Not sure how much there is to see/do in Erice, though it seems very pretty.

There's not a lot to see/do in Erice...you can walk around, but its a very small place.A couple of nice restaurants, cake shops etc.If you really want to relax, its the place for you...its very quiet ;-)
Personally I'd go up there for a couple of hours (its a very short drive from Trapani) and try to visit another place as well that day,as you have a car....maybe Mozia or Segesta.
Then sleep in Trapani the second night as well.....
