Yes, it's a nice place. I think it's a bit further along than most other hotels but of course it's a nice drive through the gorge, very scenic.

18You need to know that you have to go through High Atlas on the way Marrakech - desert, so it's quite a long trip. It's possible to take an overnight bus to Merzouga, but Khamlia has a good point, additional visit to any of them (Todra Gorge, Dades Gorge or Ait Ben Hadou) will be better than just visiting desert. My suggestion will be the same, visit Todra Gorge on your way to the desert and make a stop in Ait Ben Hadou on your way back.
In Todra I recommend staying in La Belle E'toile about 1-2km before the river enters the canyon, on the left side of the road. The price can be mid-range, but it's possible to sleep "la belle e'toile" style really cheap. This place is owned by a cheerful group of Berber brothers and you can also meet their friends too. One of the brothers is a university grad (he's the chief) and the other named Hassan is a polyglot and when I was there in 2011 he was able to speak in 6 or 7 languages and learning polish.
If you'll stay there they will also recommend you a place to stay in Ait Ben Hadou - a place run by their cousin Ahmed. When I was there I met Hassan who came to visit the family and additionaly decided to spend some time with us.
They're incredibly nice people, so if the sights aren't enough for you, maybe this will encourage you to stop before/after the desert. :)

Yes, they have replied me back with details...
My fren who been there said, we coudl just look for the tour once we reach there a day before, many choices ..but...I but given that its Christmas period/end year (which, hmm...many people on holidays/tour fully book?/tour company on holidays and not much trip on that period?) ..I might just go ahead booking this one..
They give me 87 euro per/head as I i will book for 2..(it was 100 euro)..
( we need to pay 20% booking fee ,and the balance, pay on the morning of the trip when they fetch us ..)..
According to the review, they acctually enggage Sahara Expeditions, which is one of the main desert tour guides in Marrakech,so if you have their contact, you may book with them as well...but ,either way, the price is the same price ...
Looking at the itienery ,thats what I am looking for, and yes, I am on budget trip.( so long we got to go to the highest dune in morocco, I am happy..I never been to any desert)
I just a bit concern on the cramp car said in the review, but,i will ask about that point before booking it.....
When are u guys going btw?
Have you found any simmilar trip like this to desert?
I think, there are many choices , different prices range..cheaper...or more expensive..
I will reach Marrakech ( from Fes) on 25th Dec 2012 morning..
So,my desert trip would be on 26,27,28 Dec ....
wich me luck !!!!

Thanks for the information and details. I have not booked anything yet, but should do so since it will be a busy period.
We are arriving on Dec 25 and heading first to Marrakesh for three days and then going to venture into the desert. I will pass along any information once I get it. We will be in Fez around January 1 and am looking forward to it.
Good luck to you and enjoy your travels.
