Can I travel to the USA in November if my New Zealand passport expires in J

Hi, I've cross-posted this in the USA forum, but thought I might get better info in the NZ forum since I'm more likely to get Kiwis responding. I'm a Canadian permanent resident and I will be going to New York for 2 days in late November and taking a flight to Mexico from there. The flight returns to Canada, so I'll literally be in the US for 2 days only. My passport expires at the end of January, and I'm wondering if my passport needs to be valid for longer in order to cross the border? I know in order to get visas for some countries, your passport needs to be valid for 6 months after your intended stay. Is that also the case for New Zealanders going to the States? I can't find any mention of it online. Thanks!

With the Americans being pedantic about everything, I'd say you'll need that 6 months on your passport. And I shouldnt think NZ passport holders would be any different than say, those from other western countries.

I shouldnt think there'd be different rules for NZers than other western countries. And what does it say on the official US Immigration web site.

To use the Visa Waiver you need an onward ticket to a country other than Canada, Mexico or the adjacent islands. Regardless of the passport issue, I think you may have a problem trying to use the Visa Waiver.

I'd be getting a new passport, I pretty much always have at least 6 months validity for travel in general around the world. The only thing that complicates matters is the fact you say you are a Canadian PR. That MAY exempt you somehow, but as #4 points out the visa waiver rules also complicate it all.

Passports must be valid for 6 months beyond the length of stay of the person entering the USA. Attached link refers:

Further complications here as well. Depending on your Canadian PR...

of course if you then need to satisfy the VWP requirements as a NZ then you'll need the 6 months.
