Motor bike police arrests in KSR area

Three years ago I was staying in a hotel behind the temple area by Koh Sarn Road.
One night I was sitting outside in the hotel restaurant at about 2 or 3 am with a friend having a chat. We were out of sight behind a bush. There was nobody around except a tourist standing on his hotel steps, about 4 metres away.
A policeman on a motor bike pulled up and asked him a couple of questions. He then told him to get on the back of the motor bike. The tourist wanted to know why and refused. The police man got very angry and aggressive. The tourist still refused and was now terrified. Another policeman arrived on a bike and the tourist was then taken away on the back of the motor bike. I think the tourist said he was Danish.

I was just in the same hotel and a few nights ago I was leaning out of the window at 2 am. Down below in the same location a policeman on a motor bike stopped a tourist, got off his bike and reached out to grab him. He then noticed me at the window, above. He backed off, wished the tourist a good holiday then looked up at me for a few seconds, then rode off.
I thought that was really freaky. Same place, same time etc.

20 minutes later I was lying in bed. I heard screaming. Help! Help! Don't hit me! Don't hit me! I thought someone was getting robbed. I looked out of the window and about 30 metres further up, I saw a policeman throw a tourist to the ground and hand cuff him. He was then put on the back of his bike and driven off.

I have just read a lot of posts on here with similar titles and it seems the poster gets knocked a bit for exaggerating stories.
There is not much more I can do but I think it needs to be mentioned.

I have not read anything like this story here at TT.

If it would be a regular thing to happen on Rambuttri this forum would be full of warnings however.

Smells like a troll.

Agreed Troll .. That area is too popular and busy for anything remotely like the OP has mentioned to happen ...

Yeah, troll. As much as I distrust the boys in brown, they are not going to abduct random tourists on KSR.

Police trying to SCAM tourists for money?

Guavagirl is right - Another reason to stay away from the KSR area.

I dont think the KSR area is any worse than a lot of other areas.

And he woke up in a bath of ice with a fresh scar where his kidney once was.

Real police don't take prisoners on the back of motorbikes. They use pickup trucks.

It is very sad that you think this is a joke. Maybe look at my history. It is not the sort of post I would make.

I am really quite ashamed, reading your responses.

I believe the darker ladies loitering on Sukumvit meet the same end sometimes.

Tough crowd,
I've been shaken down in Tashkent,Uzbekistan, rather it was an attempted shake down because I took out my pen and paper began writing their badge numbers, at which time the two uniformed thiefs decided I could go on my way. It may happen anywhere in the world.

How do you manage to keep a handcuffed person on the back of a motocycle? Does he/she help by leaning and balancing with the driver?

You got some 'splainin' to do!
