CAN THIS BE A SCAM?
HI - i bought a ticket today from peru to canada oline - and a couple of hours later i received this email which looks like a scam to me. Is it?FROM: James Tracy james@lbftravel.com

Please click on link below and fill out the form attached.
When finished, please fax it back with a copy of your passport,
or state issued ID, as well as a copy of the bank and front
of your credit card.

are not guaranteed until processed.

It certainly looks and reads like spam, but if it is spam.....no clue. I've never had to verify anything when booking plane tickets over the net - I've been asked to bring my credit card with me when I check in, but not email it to them. Then again, I don't know what company you booked it with. Why not email them back and ask for a phone number so you can call them? If it's spam, they probably won't respond, but if it isn't....seems the safest bet.A.

i went to Mobissimo website and then it redirected me to Smartfares.com - and i bought a ticket from themhttp://mb.smartfares.com/pages/contact.aspx

just to let u know how this story ended with smartfaresi told them that i am definitely not providing them with this info
they told me that it is definitely required
i said... see above
to make this story short - the ticket was issued without this absurd requirement to disclose confidential info

@ HOMER - this is brilliant - i did it. found my reservation - however it says - status HELD.I wrote to smartfares - they responed that i am ticketed and that they do not know why copa site shows otherwise.
also wrote to copa reservation - and got their automated reply -
