It certainly looks and reads like spam, but if it is spam.....no clue. I've never had to verify anything when booking plane tickets over the net - I've been asked to bring my credit card with me when I check in, but not email it to them. Then again, I don't know what company you booked it with. Why not email them back and ask for a phone number so you can call them? If it's spam, they probably won't respond, but if it isn't....seems the safest bet.

A.

I got something like that once from a British outfit, I cancelled the booking & booked the trip with another site, why take a chance on a scam.

just to let u know how this story ended with smartfares

i told them that i am definitely not providing them with this info

they told me that it is definitely required

i said... see above

to make this story short - the ticket was issued without this absurd requirement to disclose confidential info

Confirm immediately directly with the airline... it sounds like you may have been scammed.

The Copa website has this toll-free number:
1–800–359 2672

and a list of reservation centres that can be reached by phone: http://www.copaair.com/sites/cc/en/acerca-de-copa-airlines/pages/centros-reservaciones.aspx

Go to the Copa site and go to the manage my booking link.
Enter your PNR or confirmation number and your booking will appear (if its a legitimate booking).
easy way to check without having to call anyone.
