We are planning on doing a self drive tour of South Africa and stopping in Swaziland.
We are thinking of driving straight from Johannesburg to Swaziland and spending a day or two.
Can anyone help with the following questions?
-What area should we stay in?
-Where do we go to get a good cultural experience?
-Do we need to do a tour or can we go on our on?
-Where would we sleep? Any recommendations for a low cost hotel or residence?

I suggest that you do your own thing and spend a couple of nights at Mlilwane (http://www.biggameparks.org/mlilwane/) which is located in the Ezulwini Valley just south of the capital, Mbabane.3
I stayed in Shewula camp with my children. It is a eco village on the top of a mountain near the Mozambique's border. This community has few rondavels for tourists and the money that they pay is for the community. There aren't orphaneges because children alone stay with other local family. Deserving students can study with the money of tourits. You can visit the school, the local community, the surgery and eat local food very fresh! Wonderful photos! The rondavels have not electrical energy. A really stay in the local community with activetes and solidarity. They have a web site: Shewulacamp
