Question regarding Russian 3-year multiple-entry tourist visaRecently, Russia simplified the visa formalities to offer a 3-year multiple-entry tourist visa for American passport holders. I have a few questions regarding this.
1. Does anyone recommend a travel agency who can help with a letter of recommendation under this new formality? Since the 3-year multiple-entry option is very recent (as of September 2012), few of the websites of travel agencies offer services for this option.
2. Just to clarify, because the consulate employees could not, if I exit Russia and reenter, is there a minimal period of time needed in between visits? (I plan to enter and exit Russia 3 times within a 1 month period, as I'm also visiting Belarus, Kyrgyzstan, and Mongolia en route).
3. Connected with the previous question, each time I reenter Russia do I need to register my visa each time (3 times total, 1 time per entry period)? I'm aware hotels assist in this for a small fee, does that include budget ones?

11, All you require is evidence of a hotel booking, its been claimed by some here that this requires an entirely new document than before, unfortunately those making this claim haven't provided any evidence that this is the case or what the source of this claim is. Under the old system you required a invitation and a accommodation voucher, these documents had to come from an officially registered Russian hotel or tourist agency, now you just require the accommodation voucher.
2, No, the only problem I can see is if people start having 6 months stays and then returning shortly after leaving.
3, Registration is required if a) you check into a hotel or b) your in one place more than 7 business days

2Can you clarify something? On the Russian embassy website it says "a contract for provision of tourist services, confirmation of reception of the tourist"
Can a hotel provide me with this if I made a reservation? Or as you stated above, you think I may be able to apply for the visa with only a hotel reservation?
