A couple of questions...

Well we are all booked up and really looking forward to our 3 weeks in New Zealand! I have a couple of questions I would like to ask 'those that know' these things...

We need an internet connection whilst traveling, could someone recommend the best sim card to get internet on a phone, pls?

My partner is super sensitive to sulphur fumes (poor OH&S at a job many years ago) so doesn't want to go to Rotarua, which I (very much) do want to see.The questions are how far do the fumes spread? Is it localised to the geysers and mud pools or all through the town? We plan to find somewhere for him to wait while I site see, hopefully not to far away. It would be great if there was a local 'fume-free' camping ground in the area.

Thanks in advance.

Sorry Rotorua...The New Zealanders have some place names from hell! ;-) Can't wait till I have to try to say them!

parts of Rotorua are smellier than others, and some places advertise as 'no sulphur'. But if it is that bad, why not park him in Taupo, an hour away, and you go to Rotorua on your own? Taupo is a nice spot and has fume-free hot springs in places round the lake. You might need a second hire car for the day or one of you takes a tour.

Telecom or Vodafone have the best coverage. 2 Degrees isn't bad. Check all three websites before you go and figure out who has the best deal for what you want.

First thing I notice in Rotorua is the smell. I'd second neverwinter's suggestion.

1GB of data on 2 degrees is 20 bucks, its for their mobile broadband which is now available in most major NZ 'cities'. Bang tidy.
