evening in marrakesh

Hi everyone

I will traveling to marrkesh in early November. As I will only have 2 full days there, I want to make the most of evening when I get in. My plane lands @ 6pm, but my hotel is on the outskirts (dont ask) and I will have to swing by there first. I wanted to know if there any 'must see' places/venues that I should try to on the first night, apart from djemaa el fna? (as I will probably be there most of the time anyway) I would want to do something more moroccan if possible, so no thai fusion resturants etc. I also realise that djemaa el fna is probably as about moroccan as it gets, just wanted to know if there was any other options.

Djemma el Fna is best in the early evening, so there ya go. In fact, during the day it is kind of a parking lot.

Try and look like a local so you don't get hit up for too much money at the music circles!

The Jemma is adjacent to the souks, so during the day you could wander around in them and shop. Many of the shops are closed at night but the spectacle in the square itself is fascinating. It does really slow down around
9 or 10 p.m.

Before you go, decide that you will sit down at one of the many benches and order merguez sausages, which are definitely better than the brochettes! And keep your wits about you to avoid the motorbikes and scooters!
