Corn Islands in November?

We're planning to visit Nicaragua in mid November, and are considering visiting the islands for a couple of days. Can folks with more experience talk about the weather there during that time of year? LP describes it as the rainy season, so we're wondering how rainy it actually gets during this time. I don't mind afternoon thunderstorms (this is the tropics), but I'd hate to go there during a time known for daily, rainy washouts. We'd want to go there to lay under the sun, relax and eat some lobster, not really into SCUBA stuff.

While it is the rainy season, I doubt it will dump down monsoon style next month. COOKSHOW can give you more details on the precipitation levels, but from what I have seen the showers are usually squalls passing through, blasting their way over the island and done in a short period of time. November should be a good time get some sun and lobster. I'll be there myself in a week and a half.

Have a good trip!

We were in the Corns 2 years ago November, and had two lovely days followed by a pretty choppy/windy one - we left Little Corn a day early rather than get stuck out there for a couple of days and change our itinerary entirely (if we hadn't been on such a tight timeline, we certainly wouldn't have minded being "stuck" out there for a while). The wind was more of a problem than the rain - I actually don't remember it raining more than a small overnight squall maybe once while we were there.

I just got back from the corn islands and I agree with what's been said. it's rainy season, but it really only rains for a short period of time if it does at all. We did plenty of beach laying and lobster eating! And the evening thunderstorms are fantastic to watch!
My recommendation is you skip big corn altogether and stay on little corn, it's paradise.
