Safe/unsafe border region between Colombia and Venezuela?

Safe/unsafe border region between Colombia and Venezuela?
Hi there,Just wondering about which areas of Colombia and Venezuela are considered unsafe for travelers...specifically the border region between Bucaramanga, Colombia and Merida, Venezuela. Haven't read anything one way or another, any insight is appreciated.

To my knowledge the borders between Colombia and Venezuela are in general free of PARC activities. I have not been to the particular border you referred. Last year I went from Punto Fijo to Valledupar crossing the border at Maicao. There was nothing unusual. The roads on the Colombia side have soldiers stationed on the road side as usual.
