I've done it but wouldn't do it again. They start locking Times Square down from 3pm and if you haven't got into the block by then and are prepared to wait out in the cold and possibly snow and sleet, maybe not able to exit for the toilets and return. If you really want to you'll probably come back with a lot of free party giveaway bling and stuff but its a long unproductive wait for 9 hours just to see a ball drop. Unique though I guess. I didn[t bother, i came home for a nap, then headed out to see James Brown his last time near by at BBKing's instead. Keep in mind that they also block the tourist midtown area off for miles down 5th and 7th ?? avenues for emergency evacuation so it makes accessing anywhreres a really long walk. Anyways, all the best and probably best to make reservations to do something well in advnace so atleast you are in somewhere warm and doing something rather than just wasting the time. Cheers, C.
