ATM machines at kansai airport
I know this may be a silly question, but i have never flown into Kansai airport (Osaka), so:Are ATM machines readily accessible upon exiting Immigration? Specifically, accepting Cirrus? We will be arriving in the evening and will be rushing to take a train or shuttle bus to Kyoto, and will need yen for the transport and for checking into our guesthouse (which does not take Visa). We can attend to our main currency needs in the city the next day but would like just enough to get us to our accomodation.
Thanks.

Yes.

Yes.

I guess it might be difficult in the Phillipines but you may wish to consider exchanging money for yen before you arrive.
What time do you arrive?
What is your full itinerary?
I would buy the ICOCA + Haruka package (possibly return) and take the Haruka

What is best might depend a little on your arrival time.

Thanks, acc!Yes, I will be trying to buy some yen at home before leaving, but most banks here usually have only dollars or euros readily available, and I am not sure what kind of rates I would get at moneychangers. Hence, looking at ATMs at Kansai as a a fallback.
We are scheduled to arrive at 7:20pm but of course have to allow for flight delays. We do not want to arrive too late at our Kyoto guesthouse so as not to inconvenience them.

Sounds fine, there are many ATMs at Kansai Airport so you should have no problems. You didn't mention your itinerary but I think the ICOCA + Haruka package will be the best option and probably get you to your guesthouse the quickest, although you will still arrive after 9:30pm I'd guess (depends where your guesthouse is too).

I'm not 100% sure if Seven Bank still takes International cards.
I'm pretty sure they do.

If not there is a Japan Post ATM which should be still available assuming you arrive on a weekday.

OP,If you are in Manila, definitely buy all the yen you need at the money changers. They give excellent rates. There is a cluster of them along Mabini in Ermita. Just shop around to find the best rates. This is better than using ATMs in terms of costs.
