Good Beaches, Hot Weather, And Cheap Flights in January to Spain!!
I'm trying to find a cheap flight in mid to late December or early January from Warsaw, Poland to a Southern Spain beach destination.I'm also looking for referrals to nice beaches with cheap accommodations for a 3-4 day visit during the same above dates.
Are there beach locations in Spain where the weather is hot enough during December/January to swim and sun bath, basically escape the cold of Poland for a few days?
Thanks again,
Craig

Warm enough in Dec-Jan? Only in the Canary Islands.2
HelloTry Canary Islands, you will enjoy sun and beach even in winter. The only problem is that in Christmas time all flights have high prices, but if you book in advance and try not to travel in "key" dates, perhaps you can be lucky
Have fun

Are the canarie islands part of Spain?Of course, they are. They are fully part of Spain.
What airlines cheap do u reccomend from warsaw?
Take a look at webs like Skyscanner or Kayak (or any other similar) to see what could be the cheapest options on your travel dates. There are many charter flights to the Canary Islands but not out of Warsaw. Out of Belin, Condor could be an option. Air Berlin could be an option too and they could offer connections to Warsaw... Take a look in the webs suggested above.
What about Portugal?
The South of the Iberian Peninsula, either in Spain or in Portugal, is unlikely to have beach time in December/January.

Southern Spain can have some very good weather in January though nights can be cold, which is what stops the sea warming up so the water will be cold and not for swimming.I did see some people wind surfing in the sea in January at Nerja but they were all wearing some kind of wet suits to keep them warm. But there were people sunbathing in costumes on the beach.
Yes, Canary islands if you want to go swimming but like me you can't get a cheap Ryanair flight to the Canary islands from where you live.

Peejee, I don't completely agree, the Canary Islands are a beach destination all the year round, and Portuguese beaches are not colder than Spanish ones, the Atlantic is colder than the Mediterranean, and this is also true all the year.9
Hi CraigI think it is important that you do not expect too much of either Southern Spain or the Canary Islands in January. Marbella on the Costa del Sol has average temperatures that range from 8°C at night to 16°C during the day. This is not as warm as Warsaw in May, while the sea temperature is about the same as Gdansk in July and not as warm as Gdansk in August.
On the island of Gran Canaria which is 1,000 kilometres further south temperatures range from 15-21°C in January. During the day this is not as warm as Warsaw in June although nights are warmer than Warsaw in June. The sea temperature is usually around 19°C which is a degree colder than Gdansk in August.
It is a shame that there are no direct flights from Warsaw to Sharm el Sheikh. It is closer to Warsaw than the Canary islands, and the sea temperature in January is usually 22°C. This is still cold by most people's standards but better than all the above.
Good luck.

Inhave to agree with #9. i live in southern Spain ( Marbella) and in January we are wearing jeans, boots and jackets not bikinis. You may get a nice sunny walk on the beach but sunbathing weather for the majority is mid May to the beginning of Oct. Portugal will be similar. The Canary Islands ( part of Spain but off the african coast) would be your best bet though it's not guarenteed to be hot enough for the beach. Typical temps in Jan are 22º which for me is borderline beach weather. You need a jacket when going out at night.
Hope this helps
