Busking and Budgeting South America

Hi there, I'm currently planning a trip of around 4 months in South America, specifically in Peru, Bolivia and probably Chile. I'm really keen to take a guitar out with me to do some busking and meet people, but I was wondering if anyone had had any experience of doing this in Latin America? I know in many western countries there can be strict rules on who can busk etc, does anyone have any idea what these countries' attitudes to it is?
In addition I'm trying to budget how much I should be spending, could someone give a rough estimate of how much one's likely to spend a day in these countries? Thanks, really appreciated.

I've seen quite a few people busking, mostly Argentinian and Colombian hippies. Not sure if they get a lot of hassle from the police. Don't expect to make any actual money however. If you love to play guitar bring it anyway, plenty of backpackers do.

Bare minimum I would say Bolivia $25, Peru $30, Chile $40 per day. You won't be enjoying any luxurious on this budget however. Bring more and you will have a much better time.

You will not support yourself by this type of activity in South America.
