A month in Peru and ??

Hi,

Myself and my boyfriend have a month to go travelling next May. I'm thinking of Peru. However, should we spend the whole month in Peru, or maybe also go to Argentina or Chile. We don't want to be rushing around like idiots, but equally we want to do and see as much as possible. Planning on getting the guide books, but don't know if we should be looking at Chile or Argentina, if either.

Thanks

Stick to one month and one country. That is the general rule of travel in south america.

That is a wise approach.
You can easily spend 6 weeks or two months in the country, and there will be enough to see without getting bored. Peru is a country of very diverse nature, rich in history and culture.
Make some research and see what might interest you most. You'll be welcome back with specific questions.

Peru is amazingly varied, as are Argentina and Chile. A month will give you time to get off the Gringo Trail a bit in Peru, whether in the north or the Amazon, and do some trekking in the Cordillera Blanca (or Huayhuash) or surfing in Piura to boot. If you try to get to even one city in Argentina or Chile, you risk losing a lot of time and money and not getting the most out of your visit to boot.
