flight from Addis to Gondar
I will be flying into Bole arriving 6.40 am and I have noticed there is a flight to Gondar at 7.30am. As I'm not familiar with this airport what are the odds of me catching the gondar flight the same day? I assume pretty slim especially as I will need to buy a ticket upon arrival, but I thought I'd throw the question out there anyway.Just out of curiosity, how much does a one-way ticket cost from Addis to Gondar?
Thanks in advance for tips and feedback.
Allan

Seems local prices are 1/3rd from those published in internet. We just received quote from Ethiopian Airlines office:'Our fare from Gondar to Addis is ETB 1,183.00 and if you want to fly Gondar-Lalibela-Addis, the fare is ETB 1,920.00.'
The price on internet Gondar to Addis is ETB 3100.
If your international flight to Addis is with Ethiopian, you will get reduced price as well through call center reservation.

Leaving yourself 50 minutes between flights is not the ideal situation at any airport in the world. If you are arriving internationally into Bole, you will not make the connection. No way. Flight arrives at 6:40am. My the time you actually got off the planet it might be 6:55, clear immigration 7:20, buy your ticket 7:40, go through security to board next flight 7:55....................4
feferon, does the Gondar-Lalibela-Addis fare of ETB 1,920.00 allow for a few days stopover?6
Thanks for the tips everyone, guessed as much and please LIZA It's not because I think Addis is so bad that I want to go north quick, it's just I'm a bit short of time. I will be back in Addis on the 24th as I will be running in the 10K race on the 25th and will happily visit the area for the 3 days I'm in town. As you like the place so much, maybe you would like to suggest some "not to be missed places in town" and I'm not being sarcastic, I really would like some tips. Thanks everyone, I love these exchanges on Lonely planet.

Hi Alanyou could take the evening flight to Bahir Dar, there is a flight in the afternoon and in the evening, and if you take the afternoon one you could catch a minibus to Gondar and be in Gondar on the same day. No way of doing it in a short hour though.
Addis is actually not all that great, other than the oasis in my garden :-) Also taking a walk in Entoto, and maybe some of the green gardens. Google addis green spaces, there are some lovely parks, some amazing birdwatching for such a big city.

1. no way you will get 7.30 flight in those circumstances. you will do well to clear immigrastion customs by 0800!2 post 1 is out of date in sense that any discount for flying Ethiopian into the country no longer exists.
All domestric flight tickets bought inside the country by whoever are less than half of web site prices.
