Delhi or Mumbai in December?

Hi all

I am trying to choose between going to Mumbai and Dehli between Christmas and New Years. What do Ku recommend?
I am a woman travelling alone and would like to relax and enjoy the outdoors as well as meeting new people and seeing some cultur and historical sites. I would also like to travel to nearby towns and cities.

Thanks for letting me know :)

I wouldn't actually stay in either of those cities. I would choose either Goa for the outdoors or Rajasthan for the culture and historical sites.

Both cities offer a large amount of cultural and historical sites. I think that the British influence is more obvious in Mumbai than it is in Delhi (eg. Victoria Terminus), and there is less air pollution in Mumbai than Delhi (personal observation).

Travel from either location will get you to an assortment of places, within a few hours or a day. Depends on what you are interested in seeing.

One of the things to bear in mind is that generally, the cost of accommodation is more expensive in Mumbai than it is in Delhi. That may be a deciding factor for you.

One more note: Delhi suffers from sometimes extreme fog in the mornings in this season. Transport is affected, many early morning flights are delayed.

Delhi?Early morning flights are canceled,as well as trains because of the fog.Not just delayed. For Goa.You need to make a reservation now!.Delhi is dirty, poluted, and not safe. One hour in Delhi rush hour traffic is the same as smoking a pack of cigarettes.Colaba area of Mumbai is nice, with travelers.Must book now.But neither city offers any outdoor fun or relaxation.Goa.Book now.

Hey Leah i would suggest Bombay as it sounds more safer and better than delhi..... as mentioned by #4 Colaba is certainly a nice place to meet travelers from all over the world ....Historical places can be surely seen here .... i wud suggest you visit Colaba Army Barracks behind AfghanChurch it was build since 1863 and still well maintained by our Army ...there are many things here if you wanto explore.... there are many beaches and loads of Parties which happens in Bombay during that time of year.... Goa wud be double the fun as compared to bombay..... u can let me know if you happen to be in bombay i can suggest you some places where parties are Held during that time.
