I live in Australia. I'm looking to find a holiday place in or close to Queensland (Island) where I can relax for a week or so - not a party destination and not very expensive -and safe as a single traveller1
There is a reason many single Australians travel to SE Asia instead of Queensland. It costs a lot more to stay for a week in Qld than it does in SE Asia somewhere, including the slightly more expensive international flights.i've been to a few place in qld, but it seems to be either party destination or family destination. Catering for the single traveller in Australia is basically hostels only. so search for hostels on a booking site like hostelworld or hostelbookers

Try looking at Noosa, or around the Whitsundays if you prefer to go to Queensland, or maybe fraser islands.
