traveling north to south along the haitian/dominican borderHi, in mid december I would like to rent a car and travel north to south along the haitian/dominican border then east to La Romana and end in Santiago. I except this to take me 5-6 days by car. If anyone would like to join me or has any insights on what to see along the way, please reply to this thread. Thank You

1Sounds like a good trip - Haitian border is well worth a visit though not sure if the east (Punta Cama?) is worth the effort. Yoou should post the question on DR1.com for info on the current state of the roads. The NW - Dajabon (market) and Monticristi (interesting architecture), are worth visiting. + in the SW Perdenales and Lago Enriquillo. Another road worth considering is Constanza to San Jose de Ocoa - great mountain scenery. For these areas you will probably need a 4 wheel drive.

2When are you doing this? My boyfriend and I are flying into Haiti December 22, then heading for the DR hoping for a similar adventure. Basically, we want to get away from the resort scene and have an adventure. Maybe we could all do this together!
