15I do not dispute that Kingston has all those things to offer.
In reality how many tourists actually go to Kingston compared to the rest of the island ?
Why is it that most flights carrying tourist arrive in MoBay and not Kingston ?
Not that MoBay is "all that".
Most tourists stay or visit the North Coast.
Scotty, I am not "dissing" Kingston, and you are way to sensitive about the subject.
I am only stating the facts. Most tourist arrive and stay along the North Coast and NEVER visit Kingston.
And yes, I do agree that most that do visit Kingston are "independent" travellers.

16lonely planet is the leading resource for independent travelers as far as I understand..so why don't we just give people the tools and information they need to make up their own minds rather than say don't go here and go there. Knowledge is power so I think it's our job as contributors to provide information resources that will help independent travellers make informed decisions. Most of Jamaica's tourists are resort seeking North Americans they hardly need independent information resources as much as the independent traveller because the resort takes care of everything for them. Many independent travelers fly in through Kingston because it's cheaper and closer to the Blue Mountains, sections of the south coast and Port Antonio. I have seen a legitimate and recurrent need from travelers on this forum to understand Kingston in order to negotiate with or around it.
