Stopover in Singapore or Taiwan/Taipeh?

Hello,

I will fly back from the Philippines to Austria on January 11th 2013. Because there are no direct flights I decided to do a stopover in Singapore or Taiwan/Taipeh until January 15th 2013.

Which City/Country would you recommend for a 4 day stay?

Thx

Hi skipper 002!

Welcome to TT!

AFAIK, there are direct flights from Taipei to Vienna but not from Singapore to Vienna. As the airlines flying from Taipei to Vienna fly from Manila to Taipei too, perhaps, you could get a stopover for a few days free of charge or at a cheaper cost than making it in Singapore.

If weather is important, S'pore is tropical, while Taipei can be quite cold and rainy in winter. Otherwise, I would probably choose Taipei. S'pore is a common transit point, you are much more likely to visit it anyway on another trip, while Taipei is quite out of the way for most Asian trips.

Thx for your answers!
I've booked now a flight from Manila to Vienna via Taipei. I will stay there for 4 days. I'm looking forward to having a good time there and to collecting new memories.

Can you tell us what you thought of Taipei once you leave?

Of course. When I'm back from my trip I will tell you.
