Suggested plan of action- help please!
Hi,I know there are posts out there, but i am still a little confused! My husband and I are looking to spend 10 days in Honduras and Belize. We are active folks, who like to do adventurous activities (white water rafting, hiking etc..) as well as some time to enjoy by the beach. I would like to go to the islands off Honduras if possible, but i am just not sure how to get it all in during that amount of time. Can anyone give us some suggestions of things we MUST include in our trip, a suggested itinerary perhaps and any other information you may think is valuable when planning a trip?
Thanks so much in advance!!

Two countries for ten days is indeed difficult to sort through. Honestly, that allows only for two major spots to stay in: perhaps one in Belize, and another in Honduras. You could incorporate oceanic activities into Belize and do some whitewater rafting and hiking near La Ceiba in Honduras.Another possibility is to choose just one country.

To be honest, I agree with misterbee. Honduras seems to offer more for your interests, especially considering that you only have ten days.5
Traveling between Honduras and Belize is a pain and time-consuming, unless you fly, which is expensive, and there are only limited flight options (only between San Pedro Sula and Belize City). I'd choose one or the other.6
For a short trip, Belize might be better. You could fly through Cancun, if you want to save bread. Take a Raggamuffin 2 night sailing camping trip to Placencia. Then to puntagorda, to zip up and down rio dulce from Livingston to Rio Dulce.Honduras involves a bit more distance. for such a short trip i would fly from San Pedro to roatan or utila (or both, and sail between). If that doesnt suit your fancy, you could expand to D&D Brewery (avoid Fruity beers), Omega Lodge, Sambo Creek (Hotel Centroturistico, with daytrip to Cayos Cochinos) and Omoa (last night, a few hours to airport).
Casa Kiwi near Trujillo recently re-opened. It is now run by another hot chick. I had a great time there last January with them both.
