cuba, dominic republic and puerto rico?
hi guys, so i m making 2 trips right, my question is how i could fit dr and cuba in my trip.trip 1 i start in mex city (cheapest to fly to from miami i think) and end in panama city
trip 2 will be caracas, or somewhere else in venezuela and the 3 guianas and brazil
what is the most logical itinerary that i go to dominican republic, cuba and puerto rico?
someone told me to fly into DR and then fly into Venezuela on the 2nd trip. can i put it with the first trip (i know i can go to havana from cancun but then just take boat to DR? i dont think you can). i dont really need to go to puerto rico...

Me again, I answered your questions on Central America for the MX to Panama>VZ.Since you cant fly to Cuba from US, you would find the cheapest flights to Havana from Cancun MX. You can fly from Cuba to almost all the Capitals in CA, from Guatemala to Panama. You can also fly to Cuba from the Bahamas or Caymans and Canada.
I dont know if there are flights from Cuba to DR or PR, but you can fly from PR to DR on Jet Blue or AA. As for getting to VZ from Cuba, DR or PR, that is also one to ask on the SA or Caribbean branch. From Miami you can fly to DR, PR and Caracas no problem.

yea thanks solohobo.im not sure if i could fly to to Cuba at all with a US passport bc they are more strict..
well there is no boat? seems like it would be cheaper from cancun to havana on a boat maybe several hrs?
what i heard is that they keep your passport and then you have to come back to the same place later to get ur passport... not sure.
do you think it makes more sense to fly to DR and then get to Cuba from there (as far as I know, u can't as a US citizen from DR) on trip 2 or go to cuba on trip 1 from near Cancun or something? I know you can fly from DR to VZ for sure.

Nobody will stop you from flying to Cuba on a US passport. Cuba welcomes US visitors. I have never heard of anyone having their passport held unless they were under suspicion of something. It is only the US authorities that don't lik you to go to Cuba - but they aren't enforcing their rules. No flights between Cuba and PR.
I think there are flights from DR to Santiago de Cuba and then on to Havana. (Wasn't it one of those that literally dropped out of the sky a couple of years back ?)
There are no boat services.
From Mexico, there is one airline flying from Cancun to Havana and about three from Mexico City to Havana.

You should ask about flights for Cuba on the Cuba branch, and caribe countries on Caribe branch. There is no issue with Americans going to Cuba, where did hear such nonsense. US has(d) issues but they have relaxed them and could careless over the last 5 years.
No boat service unless you are going oneway from Cuba to Florida.

I understand that the fast boats charge about $5,000 for the one-way trip from Cuba - I am sure they would take you the other way for the same price !8
I would really dig fallin into the Dominic Republic for a minute, but not into sketch sitch.9
how i could fit dr and cuba in my tripYou can fly to Cuba from Mexico (e.g.: with Interjet or Cubana). You can fly from Cuba to the Dominican Republic with Cubana de Aviación. You can fly from the Dominican Republic to Puerto Rico (e.g.: with Jetblue as SoloHobo quoted in #1). You can fly from Puerto Rico to Panama with COPA and, once in Panama, you can go overland to Mexico to take your flight home. That could be a way to fit it. If you don't want to go to Puerto Rico, you can skip it flying from the Dominican Republic to Panama with COPA.

thank you anillosi just booked mia to pty and then mex to mia.
i think i might be able to do mex to hav round trip... it seems to be the cheapest but its still over 400.. seems kinda steep (this will be at the end of the trip right around 12/31, 1/1, 1/2 something like that)
not sure i can get to DR. this trip will not include caracas, venezuela. therefore it might be better to goto DR first next time and then caracas right after since there doesnt seem to be direct flights from mia to caracas.
let me look at cubana and interjet.. i dont think dr can be done from cuba, let me check.

Cubana and Copa fly between Havana and Santo Domingo, it seems.http://www.nashtravel.com/santo-domingo-to-havana/
- though Copa must be via Panama.

At least half the posts mention Panama ! And it would be more if not for # 14, 8, 4 and er 10.
