Visa

Hi everybody, I'm finding it hard to get info about getting a holiday visa for India from outside my country or residenace.
I'm Irish and plan to travel from Japan, Korea, China, Laos, Cambodia, Vietnam and Thailand. Is it possible to apply for a Indian holiday visa from Thailand or one of the countries listed above. My reason for doing this is, I will be out of my own country for more than 3 months before entering India.

Any advice, knowledge or tips would be a great help.

Naw, ain`t hard. We answer this every other day here. And the Search works well. but since I`m here...

From your list, recent reports say Bangkok and Hong Kong for certain.

My reason for doing this is, I will be out of my own country for more than 3 months before entering India.

From this I`ll assume you`re looking for a 6-month visa. And I`ll suggest, as I do every other day, that a pleasant appearance and attitude and a believable itinerary will go far to getting a 6-month visa in Bangkok.

Thanks Pirate, I really appreciate it. Would you happen to know if I can get an Indian holiday visa and activate it up to 6 months after issue.

Never. They start ticking the day they are issued.

and, you do not want to overstay that 180 day (not 6-months), visa.

Where IS your country of residence? If it is Ireland then you can get all the information you need from the following website:

http://www.indianembassy.ie/consular-services/visa-services

As already said the visa will last for 6 months from the date of issue.
