check that Sachsenhausen is actually still within C,
Sachsenhausen (Oranienburg) is inside the local public transport zone Berlin C.
When I clicked on the click it just brought me to the DVG homepage, I am now assuming that's not what the link was intendant to do
When I click on this link it shows me the page about the 7-Day-Ticket. But you can get there also using the menu "Tickets & Fares" -> "Weekly, Monthly and Annual Tickets".

With such a 7-Day-Ticket (actually with all BVG/VBB tickets) you can use all means of local public transport: regional trains, S-Bahn (suburban trains), U-Bahn (metro), trams, buses and a number of ferries. At the stations/stops and also on board there are route maps. You can check the names of the stops en route vs. these maps to see if you travel into the right direction. If not change direction. No big deal.

BVG online timetable
There are also various apps available for smartphones.

lucapal: Thanks for the link.

regards: I did look at the Berlin website but I thought it might just be easier and less complicated to do everything individually.

abalada: Wow thanks a million for that information, makes me feel a lot better about transportation now! I am definitely going to have to get one of the apps!

Hi Tamara,

I have a feeling I may have gone with Insider tours as well, but it was a few years ago.

The tours generally advertised by hostels are generally ran by an outside company, in fact they are usually a free tour in this case by a company called Brewers, these work on a tips basis and are usually fun and cover the main sights but don't go in to any great depth but are a great intro to the city.

The last time I was in Berlin it was February and never got above -5 Celsius! The royal park in Potsdam was picture perfect! Remember there is no such thing as bad weather just bad clothing.........

I found strolling in the new parts of town at night is very nice, Potsdamer Platz for instance.
In front of the Sony Center is an intesting "experiment" about famous people related to german cinema (if you're into movies, the Movies Museum is not bad either)
7 days ticket ABC is a good deal if you plan to go to Sachsenhausen, even with a tour, and Potsdam.
Enter and explore the many "backyards" of the buildings between Hackescher Markt and Alexanderplatz, for all kind of street art, wall painting and the occasionnal alternative exhibition, even if it looks grubby and dubious fron the street...

My main recommendation would be to hire a bike (if the weather’s okay). It’s a great city to cycle around with good infrastructure for cyclists. You can cover a lot of ground quickly as it's a relatively compact place. You’ll also discover lots of hidden gems in between the places you want to go.
