I recommend Kristi guesthouse. Clean rooms 450b per night, TV aircon, fridge and bathroom. Very central - within the old city walls near Tha Pae gate. It's on Ratchadamnone Soi 5 near to CM Saloon and UN Irish bar. Also very close to Kanjana (best and cheapest Thai food).
