October Recommendations for Sayulita

I'm looking for any words of advice for spending time in Sayulita in October..its off season so the town seems very slow. I'm not looking for late night bar stuff but more day activities.

Also - How do I Bus to PV, in order to get groceries at Wallmart? Taxis are quoting a $50 return trip which seems too high for groceries, I dont mind bussing.

Any and all suggestions are welcome! I have a month here, maybe longer.

Thanks all.

You're in Sayulita, in October? You've got the world on a string! Most of us here would like to ask how you could swing such a deal.

To get to PV, take the bus to PV. Ask anyone. To get back, take the bus that has Sayulita prominently marked in its window. Otherwise, you will be walking the last couple of miles into town from the highway.

There was a shuttle bus last December from town to the highway bus stop and return. School bus type vehicle. It's not a bad walk but not with groceries. Hitchhiking works, too.

The Compostela/Pacific line bus will take you to the PV Walmart for 25pesos, about an hour, the bus marked Sayulita on the way make will take you into Sayulita. Though why do you need to go all that way for groceries, I don't understand, we still have regular stores, we haven't been reduced to the Big Box places. I've live here in PV for over 18 years and have been to Walmart, maybe 6 times in that time.

Thank you for the suggestions guys.

JR - I just arrived...trying to figure things out....I figured visiting a larger store in PV that will have fresh goods, including fresh meats, and better pricing would be worth a weekly run.

I would be more than happy to not have to do an hour bus ride to a big box store..so if there is a decent grocery store In Sayulita please give me the name and I'll track it down. I have been to a few tiendas in town, but so far only found ones full of half rotten vegetables, and overpriced canned food. Other than that I found a store that is like an American 711, and not suitable for buying groceries for a month.

I would go north to say La Penita to shop, easier to get to and far more colourful, especially on their market day, ask the locals where they shop, doubt they go all the way to Walmart.

it's been many years since i've been to sayulita but remember it was no problem to catch a ride from the main road to town.

..i was considering going back their this spring and wondering how big and how much the town has changed....how are the accommodations these days?
