Santa elena to merida

Hi

What is the best way to get from Santa elena to merida by coach. Would it be via valencia?

Does anyone know how long the journey is from Valencia to merida?

Also do coaches run as normal on Sunday in Venezuela?

Thanks in advance

Hi there,

You can use this site for looking up schedules. http://horariodebuses.com/EN/ve/index.php. At least it gives you some ideas, I think there are many other options.

As you'll see, it is incredibly long, so doing it in one go I'd say is a killer. Keep also in mind that Venezuelan buses are colder than a fridge.

Good morning,

The buses here in Venezuela run normal any day with certain exceptions - Easter Sunday, the 1st of May, Christmas Day and New Year. If you are planning to do the Santa Elena de Uairen - Merida trip it would be convenient to break it into 2 parts. I live in Valencia. From here to Santa Elena de Uairen it is 26 hours. From Valencia to Merida it is a 10 hours trip.

Thanks for your replys. Think we're going to get the night bus to ciudad bolivar then another night bus to barinas. Saves us money on hostels and the coaches are probably more comfy than hostels if you wrap up warm.
