Best card to use abroad (as a Brit)?

Hi,

I'm a Brit currently earning some money in Oz on my first holiday visa.

I intend to do a bit more travelling (in South America) in between visas, so will be using $s as my currency, not £s.

I'm currently with Commonwealth bank but do not want to get destroyed by bank charges like I did on my last trip (with Natwest) when I originally left the UK.

I've heard about the 28 degree card or whatever it is but it's for Aussie residents only. Is there something for us backpackers or am I better off transferring the whole lot back to my UK account and using that?

Not going away until Feb but would obviously like to know in advance.

Cheers.

We use the 28 degrees card for all our overseas travel. No fees...ever! Only down side is it doesnt attract points.

By loading the card with cash you can even withdraw money without paying fees (it's your own pre-loaded money)
