Applying for Russian visa in Sydney or Canberra?
Hi there,I hold a passport from the nanny state (oz) and wanted to ask if anyone has recently applied for a Russian visa in either Syd or Canberra? A couple of older posts on this forum allege that the Russian consulate in Syd is hard to deal with and that its better to apply in Canberra.
If anyone has recently applied at either consulate could you please advise how it went? I want to apply for a Russian visa 6 months in advance of entry.

I don't know how they are now, I applied a few years ago. I got all my paperwork in to the Sydney consulate and the turnaround on my visa was pretty quick and efficient. However, they were pretty useless over the phone - abrupt and rude.I'm not sure that you can get a Russian visa that far in advance of entry. I remember having to wait until pretty close to my departure date.
