Get Indian Visa in Nepal?

Does anyone know how easy, or even at all possible, it is to get an Indian tourist visa while in Nepal? I'll be flying to Nepal from Rwanda in November and am currently trying to sort my Indian visa thing here, but am wondering if there's any point if it can be done in Kathmandu. Btw, I carry a Canadian passport.
Thanks kindly for any advice.

It can be done.It will take a couple trips to the Indian Embassy and 3-4-5 days..Dress nicely, they like that..And make up some trip plan you have already mapped out,if they ask.Keep it simple, your answers. They like that too...

Day 1, go line up at 7:30 am or so. Gate opens 8:30. Get ticket, tell the guard "first visit". When number called, hand in your telex form completed on the spot. Pay 300 Rs.
5 or 6 business days later (they tell you the date), return at 7:30 again... Tell the guard "second visit". Bring a passport pic (available just south of the gate in a shop), and the fee, I forget what it is. If they have heard back from Canada, they give you 6 month visa, which starts immediately. If not they give you 3 month. Or maybe none, if they hear bad things about you!
Good luck!

Hi - I'm in the same situation - need to get Indian visa in Nepal but needs to be for 6 months, not 3. I have a UK passport. Does anyone know if going to the British Embassy in KTM and getting some sort of character affidavit would help my application? Or is even possible...?!

Thanks

Hi

I have not tried that but I doubt the British Embassy would help in anyway - they are very busy drinking tea.
