Kenya travel guidanceHi all,
I'm mr Last minute.com and have just booked a trip on monday (8 Oct) to Kenya for 10 days, before I go to climb Mount Kili and safari in Tanzania for 2 days after.
So, a bit of guidance if anyone picks this up in time. In my 10 Kenya days I'm thinking of climbing Mount Longonot, biking around Hells Gate, going to Lake Naivashi and Lake Nakuru and eating at Kikopey Nyama Choma centre. Any thoughts on these? I'd love to do the Masai Mara, but I fear it may be out of my budget. What is the expected cost for a 2 day type safari here, including accommodation and entry fees?
Any other must sees? Remember I only have 10 days. I'm a keen hiker and so the Rift valley is a biggy for me. Anyone else going to be there, doing similar things?

1With only 10 days and your interests - I think your planned itinerary sound good.
I'd skip the Mara this time - its expensive (park fees alone are about $85) and its a long drive. you'll see plenty of wildlife in Nakuru. Save the Mara for when you have more time and more budget.

2if you like hiking/biking/climbing, Hells Gate definitely sounds like the place for you to go. Plus, Naivasha is at an easy travelling distance from Nairobi and you can find budget accomodation like Fisherman´s camp. you might also consider Crater Lake and Crescent Island. Given your time schedule you can go to Nairobi national park to see a bit more wildlife - you´ll have a bigger variety than in Nakuru NP.If you have a rest day in Nairobi but want to stay active - Arboretum is good for jogging.
As for Nyama choma, you can get that at many places, no need to make it an item of your itinery...
If you still want to add another national park and are keen on elephants, you might consider Amboseli when you head down to Tanzania (though I assume you are taking one of the shuttles from Nairobi to Moshi which means you´d have to get out in Namanga and find transport to Amboseli, which can be a bit difficult logistic-wise)
