Uzbekistan in November: how cold and is it worth it?Hey everyone!
I just wanted to ask if anybody has ever stayed in Uzbekistan in early November?
I'm planning on going there and i was wandering how cold it is there, what clothes to take etc.
Maybe somebody has recommendations on some hotels in Khiva, taking into account that it's gonna be not as warm as in summer.
thanks a lot!

2I lived there for 6 years. It will be cold, but I like cold weather. Rain is a whole different topic. Cold, winter rain can be miserable. A gortex shell with a hood is a must. I'm sure you know cotton does not dry well or quickly, think wool instead. There are routine but unpredictable gas, electricity, and water outages. city hot water heating systems are old and not dependable. The entire hot water systems are shut down for maintenance around this time. It is not as cold as Siberia, but if you get wet and cold it can feel that way. I wore an old pair of ski bib-overalls and was warm most of the time; they were light, synthetic, and very warm.
I cannot help you with hotels.
Fresh produce will become scarce, but there will be plenty of food.
Don't forget a roll of toilet paper. You'll only make that mistake ONCE!
I lost a good tooth to rocky rice so if your rice crunches when you chew either spit it out or swallow; save yourself some pain.
One last tip from my U.N. doctor. If, really, when you get diarrhea wait 3 days to take meds. It is your body's way of perging your system. The only caveat is if you develope a high temp, then better visit a doctor.
These people are spitters and nose pickers so watch where you step and wash your hands often.

3Thanks for sharing. But... damn! Is it really that bad in early November?
I was hoping for some warm days out there, like +15-20 degrees or something around that.
As you described it, it's gonna be more like a survival out there :) anyway, I will definitely think about taking some warm clothes. Thanks again.
P.S. toilet paper and rice - that's something ))
