enquiry about transport, ideally public, from Chefchaouen to Tangier?
i read of a couple of supratour bus to TETOUAN but a bit lost on the nest step?
advice will be very grateful.
we will be mostly travelling by train and staying in town/cities - could you advise me on the best way to go from the trainstation to the hotels - is cabs the best way? any etiquette to know and/or expected fares for short distances?
many thanks, Resi

2......Reis, its important to say when you'll be in Morocco, for instance at the end of this month there's a big religious holiday Eid al Adha, finding a seat on transport will be difficult. Post better and more information to get more and better advice.
There are small bus companies plying the route Chefchaoune to Tangier via Tetoune, shared Grand Taxis are not much more expensive and a lot quicker doing the same.

as Moroccotraveller correctly mentioned: I will be flying into Marrakesh on 18 October and moving north via casablanca, Rabat and Fes, Chefchaouen and then Tangier, ferry over to Spain and back to Uk by train, back in UK on 27 October! ;o)
please could you tell me mroe of the religious holiday - have not come across the many guide books I have been reading.

Your advice on other threads re travel in Morocco have been quite helpful in our travel planning so far, thanks.
I understand that you advise against traveling on the days around eid al-Adha. However, my partner and I are needing to take the train from Fes to Marrakech on the 27th and I was hoping you might give advice on how to best manage this, given the holiday on the 26th. For example, would we be able to buy tickets 8 days in advance when we were in Assilah for this day? Or 3 days in advance when we arrive in Fez?
If you have any advice re how to best travel on the 27th (aside from having patience) I would appreciate it.

5.... Jenn if you are booking Trains and Supratours Buses, they use a computerised system and you can book all sorts of combinations. Booking 8 days in advance looks good, 3 days might be tight.
Not sure what you mean by....If you have any advice re how to best travel on the 27th (aside from having patience) I would appreciate it. .... if you have a train ticket lucky you and go.
Moroccans haven't much idea of orderly queuing, frustration sets in easily and pushing and shoving occurs and more besides, the oncf / Suptatours group and CTM are better at marshalling passengers. Grand Taxi ranks and city buses are at times rough when transport is scarce.
By the 27th. the pressure should be easier.
