how to send post to Iran?
slightly a non travel topic (though post is a kind of travelling ... )I would like to send some pictures from The Netherlands to Iran, Shiraz. These pictures show me and some nice people I met during my trip. They hosted me and I would like them to have these pictures.
1. Is it ok to send these pictures? Of course I do not want to get them in any trouble.
2. How to address this? In Farsi or English, or both?
thanks!

I am not the top-expert. But Iranians gave me their address, written in transcripted Farsi, and seemed happy to receive any mail from me. I also noted that Iranians have no problems with pictures showing them and westerners together in friendly social situations (including non-hejab at home), they often believe much less in a police state than westerners.I think in the Farsi phrase book i read that the address is written in an order different from western countries, i.e. the person's name comes last, also i got my Persians' friends address in that order.
If you have the address in Farsi also, i personally would use the Farsi address and just write "Iran" in Roman-script onto the envelope plus maybe the city.

I sent photo's off to Iran with the address I had written in Farsi (I write Farsi), also from Holland, and received one back with the message that the address was non-existent and the others arrived without any problems. Best is to write it in both Farsi and Latin. If you need help you can contact me privately.Groet

I frequently send posts and packages to friends in Iran with the address in Latin or Roman alphabet. Absolutely no problem reaching the receiver. Just make sure to write legibly.
