Paying for taxi at Managua airport

Hoping to get a taxi from the airport to Granada. To save changing money in the airport do you know if you can pay with U.S dollars. Also I have been told approx 35 US dollars is what you should pay. Is this correct.
Derek
Thanks in advance.

You can pay in US$ no problem. But i would get some local currency at the airport anyway...why not?

Sorry I don't know the current price, but I'm sure its not fixed. You will have to bargain.Or get a shuttle bus....

it also depends on the cab you find. if you get a direct cab from the airport you can expect to pay more. i know that they charge $15 for local rides within managua and that is considered high compared to other cabs. i wouldn't be surprised if you paid upward to $50 with a direct airport taxi. so consider your options. otherwise you can try calling my reliable cab that i use Bidal Antonio Urbina 8686 7471. he works out of managua and is often at the airport driving for the airlines. he works on his own and is a lot cheaper than the airport cabs. give him your name and flight info and he will wait for you with a sign. He's trust worthy, good guy and will bring you to Granada in one piece. I've personally been using him for over four years and recommend him to my guests all the time and people are always satisfied with his service. tell him that nathan (pronounce my name like na-tan) from rancho esperanza, jiquilillo sent you and he will take good care of you.

That's what we paid, $35US from the airport to Granada. It is worth it to get out of town.

Why not give Paxeos a shout?

They will pick you up and drive you to Granada, you also have the option to try a shared cab..and if there are others on your flight (or another flight arriving at the same time) you will pay less. I have used them for about 7 years, always great service, always on time.

Hi
Thanks for the quick replies. We know about Paxeos and have their timetable but we were hoping to meet another couple on the plane and split the cost of a taxi with them.
Thanks again everybody.
