Looking for a second hand LP Thailand in Chiang Mai

Hi, I'll be arriving to Chiang Mai on 9th and could use a copy of LP Thailand as I'm totally new to the region. Are there second hand book shops, or backpackers' places selling used guidebooks? Or anyone wanting to get rid of their book? I'm having no luck to find one in Kuala Lumpur where I'm now.

Next to Starbucks across from Thapae Gate (on Thapae road) there is a soi with a bunch of bookstores. They all have used lonely planets. Gecko is very good. The actual street is Chiang Moi Khao road.

Hi,

Ok cannot guide you too well in that direction regarding Chiang Mai, but am sure you will come up trumps. In BKK you fall over LP guides second hand, there are so many for sale and some guest houses have a copy lying around somewhere.

I know that when I was in CM a few weeks ago I saw several that were the property of the GH owner, presumably left behind by some backpacker. If all else fails you could try downloading (pay for) just the paragraphs that you want. I did this when I could not obtain the very latest LP Myanmar guide. Cost me but cheaper than buying a book that was in any case unobtainable.

Yes there are several used book shops within a block of Thaphae Gate. Gekko Books on the small road next to Starbucks as dreamsigs mentioned also Backstreet Books. A block south around the corner from the Elephant Nature Fondation office on Ratchamankha road another Gekko Books and Lost Books. Plenty of 2nd hand LPs.
