Kundalini and Laughter Yoga Schools in Rishikesh

Hi Guys!

I'll be in Rishikesh, India within a week and am interested in taking classes or a course in Kundalini Yoga and Laughter Yoga. I would preferably like to stay in the centre/ashram but don't mind staying in a guesthouse either.

I have been trying to research online about different yoga schools, but have had no luck in finding one that teaches Kundalini or laughter yoga.

If anyone can recommend a good school that teaches either styles of yoga I would be very grateful!

Many thanks!
Eloise

I think you're best bet is to head to Rishikesh and ask around. There aren't any specific ashrams for Kundalini yoga training that I've ever heard of and it's considered more of a secret in India. I imagine if you're open to finding a teacher, you will if you're supposed to. The same with laughter yoga. I think Mumbai has some trainings but I never saw any in the months I was in India. But I would caution you that there are a lot of thrown together classes with anyone who wants to make a buck (or rupee) saying they teach yoga.

I dont know much about Yoga, but I think Kundalini Yoga is the supreme form of yoga wherein you are able to control yr body, mind and thoughts. And it is totally opposite to laughter yoga ( I may be wrong) wherein yr. nerve system is healed. In Rishikesh, laughter yoga, I dont think is practiced, still you and google and contact some to the ashram websites.

Thanks guys for your helpful feedback!

Think I may go to Rishikesh and see what's available when I get there.

There doesn't seem to be any laughter clubs in Rishikesh on the http://laughteryoga.org/ website, but I've read reviews about people attending laughter yoga classes in Rishikesh, or it randomly being adding to a regular yoga session.

adam00121 thank you for your links. They were very informative and looked like they'd both be good courses to go on!

blisspassport I've also heard there's lots of laughter clubs in India, but they appear hard to find, especially as a foreigner who doesn't know her way around town!

goasunset I think as well Kundalini yoga is the supreme form of yoga and it appears it is hard to find a class that only focuses on it! Yes it is completely different to laughter yoga, but I really enjoy both forms!
