Moroccan beach

Hi,
Not long now for our family trip to Morocco, we are all very excited. We arrive in Gibraltar and ferry to Tangier and during our trip we will be visiting Tangier, Chef, Fez and Marrakesh and for the last 6 days we would like a beach experience. My son (17 nearly 18) wants party & night life and myself and daughter (13) want beach and sunbathing with some good restaurants/places to eat (I'm a chef). We fly out from Agadir. Any good suggestions please of a good beach place with night life. Thanks.

..... in your excitement you forgot to say when and for how long you'll be in Morocco.

There's an Islamic Holiday coming up near the end of the month, might impact travelling etc.

Well, I'd get to the beach a day before, Eid (as Moroccotraveller points out) is due to start on 25th (depends on moon) - from experience, transport will be hectic!!!

Plus the French schools will be on holiday to add to the strain on the system!

..... when you get to Morocco book as soon as possible all onward train and bus travel. Use this site for schedules.. http://www.oncf.ma/ , ONCF trains and Supratours buses work in conjunction, the same booking system, you can in one go book through to Agadir travelling in relay on different days. Eid el Kabir, the big feast, probably the biggest Islamic Holy-day puts transport systems under great pressure, a dual effect with workers and students travelling home to be with family as drivers take off on holidays too.

Don't be put off, its a fantastic religious and cultural event, to get an idea see this link with thanks to the View from Fez..... http://riadzany.blogspot.ie/2011/11/eid-al-adha-in-morocco-2011.html

The beach in Agadir is well developed, the town and sea-front have lots of restaurants, cafe, etc., search this site for information on the Grater Agadir area, http://www.visitagadir.com/index.php use the drop-downs to find a beaches map, suggested drives etc., however finding a car to hire during Eid is difficult and hired at a premium. If you get to Agadir there's lots to do especially the younger ones.

By Monday 29th. the fuss should be over, just the lingering whiff of sheep's entrails and congealed blood.

Thank you Moroccotraveler, your information was very helpful, I have been on this web-site before www.visitagadir.com but unfortunately I do not speak French, only English, Spanish and German and the site says there is no translation available, although I have tried various times. All the same I will reserve buses etc. in advance as you mentioned. I didn't realise it was a fiesta at that time in Morocco. Thanks
