Good Hospital in Guanajuato.

Just doing more homework here.

Could someone local recommend a good hospital/doctors office in Guanajuato or even Leon?

I am very familiar with the town as a tourist but am looking specifically this piece of info.

If you aware of a website where I should ask this question/ search for answers instead, could you please post a link in response?

Thank you!

Alterigor, Assuming that you or your friends don't have social security in Mexico, the best two private hospitals in the region are the Hospital Angeles (very expensive) and the Hospital Aranda de La Parra. Both have a very complete staff with the best doctors in the region.

Alter,

I think wannbe is right. When I cut my head open down there in March and called my travel asst. company, they mentioned those two in Leon. I was looking for a place to get my stitches out. I visited La Parra and it looked nice and a consult was 150 pesos. I waited until I got to Guanajuato as my stitches were not ready to be pulled out yet. The gal who owns the Don Key Ote book store confirmed it was a nice hosp. there in Leon. You might consult with her if you are in Guanajuato. In fact, she told me to head down to the Cruz Roja, which was a few doors away from my hotel, to get my stitches out. Cost was less than 2 dollars!! Here is another link from my notes but cannot comment.

Rayosx, I remember reading about your ordeal! :( - glad it all ended up well!

Thank you, everyone for the responses. Wannabewriter, thank you for the reference. Interestingly, Hospital Angeles was both recommended to us as the best and patronaged by expats in Quereatro and also suggested by my old clients in D.F.! I guess hospitals in this network are indeed very good if they are consistently recommended across several states I've checked.

Stewbear, thanks for the link to the forum, this will certainly come handy!

Cheers,

This hospital may be more advanced than you need, but I'll list it, for the record.
