Yellow Lemon Juice Powder

QUESTION: Anyone knows of anyone that does economical international shipping to Colombia of Yellow Lemon Juice Powder? I saw soemeone online who sells 2 lbs for $36 USD and combines international shipment for $14.95 via USPS.. but I don't think he is legitimate since he does not answer questions nor allow people to buy on his website.

Comment: If you enjoy cooking with yellow Lemon juice, or making real lemonade, make sure you bring with you a couple of pounds of Yellow Lemon Juice Powder when you come to Colombia (one that tasttes exactly like real lemons). You will not find yellow lemons easily in Colombia. If you do, lemons are extremely expensive.

Thanks

Don't know about lemon, I do know lime is widely used in Colombia and dirt cheap. If you ask me I couldn't tell the difference bewteen lemon juice and lime.

Thank you, yaofeng... and, with all due respect, I am not asking you.

Lime and lemon taste competely different to me and to millions of people who use yellow lemon. Lemon is a citrus fruit... lime is not.

I hope I get a helpful response to my OP like I give to others rather than personal opinions.

I have never heard of lemon juice in powder form. Doesn't sound very nice or fresh. I love the colombian limes they're delicious and very refeshing.

Wikipedia says:
"Lime is a term referring to a citrus fruit" so now I'm confused if wikipedia is wrong or if michaelkennedy and the tens of millions of people using these yellow lemons are wrong. Either way leaves a little sour taste in my mouth. ;)

michaelkennedy are you in Medellín?

We have yellow lemons in Bogotá and they cost not much more than limes. They used to be scarce, and I used to lament their glaring absence, then they used to come once a year, then this year they came and never went away.

Surprisingly once you have them on tap you don't crave them quite so much.

USD36 for 2lbs of lemon powder, last time I went to Medellín I paid 54 mil pesos each way to fly on LAN. They have a checked baggage allowance of 23kilos. That's 50lbs of lemons you can potentially take home with you. Do the maths.

Hi Johnny...

Someone must have stepped on #3's tail. ha ha ha ha.

I know Bogotá and the Coast have cheap yellow lemons... something like $500 per libra.

Medellín is far less international and rarely has them and on the very few occasion they have them they cost a lot and they don't have them for long. Then you have the added cost of transport and the aggravation of calling and waiting to find out who has them. Not worth the effort.

You get lime very cheap here like 1.200 pesos per KG...

I enjoy the convenience and the long shelf life of powder lemon juice as they taste very much like real lemons and last a hell of a lot longer... Lemons spoil fast and I have no need for 50 lbs of lemon all at the same time.

I don't crave lemons for lemons, I use them in cooking... Shrimp Scampi tastes awesome with yellow Lemon juice. I cannot use lime with it... too bitter...
