Which trekking to do ??
Hi:I´m planning to go to Nepal first time in my life, aroun mid November. I´m planning to stay in Nepal for 16-18 days.
Which trekking would you recommend me? The famous Annapurna BC (and Thorong La)? The famous Everest BC?
Or maybe other not so famous but more awesome trekkings? I´m reasonable fit, so I don´t mind 'challenging' treks ... I even prefer them. For example last year I went to Pakistan for Baltoro Glacier and Gondogoro La pass ... this is the kind of treks I like !!
GUIDE
Do I need a guide?
Or is it enough with a good map?
Which is a reasonable daily price for a guide?
PORTER
Definitely I would take a porter, which is a reasonable price for a porter?
If any other solo travelers interested, we can arrange it.
Thank you very much in advance.

HelloBoth treks are great and you have enough time for either one. By mid-November trekker numbers are starting to reduceso the trails will not be too busy. The roadon the AC has affected the trek for some; the NATT Guide will help to avoid the worst of the road. You would need to fly in and out of Lukla and these flights are subject to delay so with 16 - 18 days in Nepal you will need to start the trek soon after arrival to ensure you have some buffer days at the end.
A guide is not required for these treks, either by regulations or from a practical point of view - route finding is straightforward as is arranging food and accommodation. A good cultural and other information guide can enhance the trek with cultural and other information - a personal choice whether to hire one or not.
A porter will cost $15 per day including his food, accommodation and insurance if hored from a trekking agent. It might be more like $18 for Everest because food is more expensive for them.

Good luck.
