travel from Oaxaca to Chiapas and beyond
Hello All,I am looking for advice /recommendation from people who
know Mexico for longer and well .
We are in Oaxaca city now , and in about one month want to take of
to Chiapas , later Yucatan , and maybe Belize .
We travel in small motor home with two dogs . Our budget is , well, budget .
We want to do good planing, which would help us to save money , or exactly,
not to spend it if not necessary , and we need/want/like to travel slowly
I am looking for information about places to stay day or two , between here, Oaxaca
and San Cristobal . Place worth to see, with nice greenery, safe for dogs .
We can boon dock , have solar .
Does someone know not expensive camping on this route ? Camping at all ? Even if small detour,
it is fine .
After San Cristobal we want to see Agua Azul, and Palenque .
Same question like above , where to stop, nice , economical way , and more specific, maybe someone knows, are we going to be allowed with dogs in Agua Azul ? Palenque we plan to see in turns , and stay in trailer park there, are maybe better options ?
Place to stay in, before hit the shore of Atlantic , same criteria .
Campings/trailer parks good for longer ( two weeks maybe) stay around Tulum ?
The best roads to take ? All and any suggestions very desired appreciated and welcome .

I am looking for information about places to stay day or two, between here, Oaxaca and San Cristobal. Place worth to see, with nice greenery, safe for dogs.I suggest staying at least a day in each of Tehuantepec, and nearby rival Juchitan de Zaragoza. I found them both to be worthwhile places.
If you're adventurous, and willing to detour a little, consider a trip to the tropical rainforest, around Santa Maria Chimalapa. I don't remember reading any trip reports about this place, but I'm curious.

Agreed on Tehuantepec and Juchitan... I'd stay in the second if I had to choose, and hope to get back soon. It's a very different atmosphere and I found the people to be great and happy to receive visitors. It's a good stop between Oax and SCDC. Some tourists might feel a bit out of place and Spanish is definitely a second (or third) language, but give the area a try.If you're able to catch any festivals in either of the towns, they are extraordinary.

Chiapa de Corzo is almo0st all the way to San Cristobal (just that side of Tuxtla Gutierrez), so this may not be much help, but you should be able to stay there at the boat launch overnight. They didn't mind my staying at all, even let me plug in to the electricity. I took the boat trip and walked around town, which seemed like a nice place. I stayed for a few days in San Cristobal in Soriana parking lot, too.5
I recall seeing a couple trailers or motorhomes in the parking area at Uxmal, also, that had obviously spent the night.I travel sometimes also in a small (23 foot) RV and often just park on the street. Duke is correct about Pemex and grocery store. Walmart is good, too.
