Prague, Budapest, Vienna and Bratislava?

Prague, Budapest, Vienna and Bratislava?
Hi,I am currently a University student studying abroad in Scandinavia. I am planning a trip for late October and will be flying into Vienna on a Friday, leaving 9 days later from Vienna again the following Sunday. I am trying to decide between visiting Prague, Budapest and Bratislava (or any combination) as well as how much time I should spend in each (including Vienna). Also if people have suggestions as to sites to visit I would love the input. I am very interested in Architecture and am also a Philosophy major so would love to see some historical sites. I am also very interested in music and always like to see some live music in the cities I travel to so if anyone has input on that it would be much appreciated as well!

With only 9 days it will be a stretch to see all four of these cities.Several thoughts:
1. I would skip Bratislava.
2. I would see about leaving from Budapest or Prague so that you don't need to double back to Vienna. It will save time and money.
All three cities are great for architecture and music.
Train from Vienna to Budapest is convenient, but train between Prague and Budapest is not. Trip is 7-8 hours and there is no overnight train so you lose part of a site seeing day.

I would not skip Bratislava, when you have only this few days.I recommend you to travel to Bratislava by train (http://bratislava-slovakia.eu/travel-to-bratislava/vienna-bratislava/vienna-bratislava-by-train) as soon as you arrive. It is just around 1 hour and 11€ the return ticket.
There you spend two days, and can take the whole day tour (http://bratislava-slovakia.eu/tours/free-tours/whole-day-tour) - see all the important places, and architecture spots are marked on this map.
Second day you can just enjoy the Bratislava city center and the cousine.
Then you take the train to Budapest for around 15€ (return ticket) - it takes 2 hours 30. There you spend again 2 or 3 days, return to Bratislava, and go directly back to Vienna. Enjoy last days and can fly back.
Prague is quite far from these cities, but Bratislava and Budapest are in one "line".

If you're into the more classical music scene then there are regular tourist oriented concerts in Vienna and Budapest, often in the churches (but maybe less frequent or not out of season.)There are some unusual music attractions in Vienna. Check out the interesting Haus Der Musik and the most unusual Marionetten Theater
Three of these cities are on the Danube so you may be able to get connections by boat. You could even rent a bike and bike between Vienna and Budapest... it's a flat ride and interesting to cross the border this way. Would be a shame to miss out on Bratislava, the city is charming, old town especially and the Eastern European legacy an interesting contrast to Vienna.
