Restaurant and wi-fi in Veracruz
Hi, I will be visiting city of Veracruz next week for business. For the majority of time I will spend the time with customer, but sometimes there's a possibility to have lunch or dinner alone. Could someone recommend any good restaurants in the city - I rather prefer local style restaurant than that for the tourist. I have no restriction for food so any types of food are welcome as long as the place has its good reputation for locals!Also, grateful if you could let me know how is the situation for wi-fi connection of the city - is there any connection service for tourist which can be accessible not only in cafe or restaurant, but in the street?

There is lots of WiFi in Veracruz city since that is all that TelMex sells anymore. All the big chain restaurants have WiFi, most all hotels 2 stars and above have WiFi and there is public WiFi in some places.Last time I was at the zocalo in Veracruz I found 3 or 4 open WiFi networks but there was too much music and dancing for me to really care about it except in the morning hours.
I would suggest walking by a restaurant you find interesting, check for a signal and then ask if you can have the password if you dine there. Family owned places will give you the password in most cases since that is part of the business. Veracruz is very connected, nothing to worry about there.

I can´t imagine being in Veracruz city and being left hanging for dinner. The big meal will be anywhere from 1 pm until 3 pm and will last a couple hours probably. Eat a small breakfast and be hungry for some food. Business dinners are very important and a time for bonding and looking for advantages. There could be lots of drinks so be aware, take care and by the end of the week you will be spent.Night time food is late, may be as late as 9 PM and then it is pretty light, fill up mid day.
Depending on whether you are buying or selling the night could be booked solid also. These guys in Veracruz can party hard and walk a straight line at 3 am. And if they are on an expense account you are really in for a good time.
Plan on doing internet work in the AM while things are slow. Phone calls home in the AM are pretty sure, by afternoon you day may be filled and little free time. If you have Skype on your cell phone you may be able to get in a few calls but prepare to be occupied, make calls when you can not when you want.
There is a good Argentine restaurant about a block or two from the Aquarium. Close to hotel Delfine. The rest I really do not know the names of. Stay away from the Gold Coast, all tourist food and really none that good. The zocalo is really not that good for food but the music makes up for the quality. If you do end up alone, ask a taxi driver to take you to a place with pescada a la Veracruzana. Mmmmm.
