Delays on entry for non UK born UK passport holders

We are planning to travel to Tunisia next year, on a Jules Verne trip. However, I've read in the FCO advice that British passport holders who were born outside the UK often have to wait a few hours while security checks are made. They just advise patience. My husband was born in Peru but became a British citizen several years ago.

I wondered if there was anything we could do to speed up the process on entry? Are there any other documents we could take, which would make the immigration officials happy?

Has anyone had this experience and can you advise?

Many thanks

I don't know if that helps, but I travel on a Brazilian passport and the immigration procedure was swift for me and everyone else. The queues were not long at all.

Anna.

Thanks - I think the issue could be that my husband travels on a UK passport but was born in Peru. But good to hear that the queues are short!

My wife has a UK passport and was born in Mongolia. We've been to Tunisia 3 times and have never had to wait any extra.
