Aegean coastline trip

Hello

I m planning a 7-days road trip from Ayvalik to Bodrum. My current plan is to visit Ayvalik, Foca, Izmir, Alacata, Sirince, Pamukale and Bodrum. Except of the archeological sites that I will find in the area, could you recommend me any other interesting places? I am looking for villages preserved their architecture (especially from 19th century) and natural beauties. Some nice beaches will be added. As I have my own car, I would like to stay with my little kids in quite nice places. In addition, is any website for rent traditional appartments?

Thank you in advance

That's a nice trip and covers a lot of my favourite areas. Consider overnighting at Lake Bafa (Kapikiri) http://www.bafalake.com/eng/index.htm. It's lovely and a little different to the seaside towns. Good accommodation and reasonable prices. The Dilek National Park at Kusadasi is also quiet and pleasant for some downtime for the children. Nice accommodation at Davutlar. There's a nice detour (if time allows) from Kusadasi, via Priene then onto Old Dogenbey (a restored village) to Karina by the sea, and back via Miletus to Didym) but it takes a full day. Activities will really depend on the time of year as the beaches can be a bit bleak in winter.

Consider also the Datca peninsula, specially Hayit Buku where there is a great bay and hotel called Ogun's Place.
