New England- 13 days

Folks,

I am planning a trip to New England with my g/f in April/May next year...should be spending about 12/13 days in the area...we will be renting a car so that it would be nice to drive by all six states...

What are the must sees- what would be better to avoid?

Anyhow, all tipps are welcome!

Best regards to all,

Adrian

Six states in 12 - 13 days. Way, way, way too rushed for me.

What are the sights to see? Depends on what you WANT to see. Tell us your interests and we'll tell you where to go.

What are your interests? History? Art? Hikes? Bikes? Music? Food? Night clubs? Strip clubs? Remember, we don't know you, and what we like may be what you hate.

Tks for the reply guys...yeah, it might be a bit rushed indeed, will have to see about that- hahaha, no strip clubs this time..;)
But food, historical sites, hiking shopping and museums definetely...

Maybe I should try focusing or 4 states or so, definetely interested in Maine/Mass./New Hampshire...not sure about Connecticut or Vermont?

food
Not much in season during April. Fiddleheads (edible fern shoots) will be available in May.
historical sites
Lots of stuff in Massachusetts. Check a guidebook--you might be able to fill the entire trip just in that state.
hiking
Hahaha. In April, I hope you like mud, snow, and ice (or stick to Connecticut and the lower elevations of Massachusetts). In May, northern New England can be lovely if you don't mind blackflies and mud.
shopping
Boston.
museums
Boston. In other areas, check hours. Smaller museums will have very limited hours or even be closed.
