Private car with driver Bogota to Medellin

Private car with driver Bogota to Medellin

I know I can take the bus, but perhaps private car is faster and I can make stops to take photographs. Anybody has a recommendation for a car with driver?

I have no name to give you, but a section of the terminal de transportes de Bogotá is dedicated to intercity taxis. It is much more expensive than a bus though, especially if you want the taxi for yourself

Hire a car is an option; with the GPS it is easy to find your way out of the city and once on the highway the roads are generally well signed.

What is the rate to rent a comfortable car, automatic with A/C with unlimited mileage and fully insured for a day or two?

My last rental (Medellin) was 4 days @ 130 k per day. Hyundai 4 door auto. Could have got a smaller one for 110 k.. This was unlimited mileage and insurance. Did not include the GPS which was 15 k a day extra from memory.

Rent a ca and drive yourself. It is not popular nor cheap but fits your rquirement. Colombia is not particularly dangerous to drive. You just need to be patient with jostling in traffic with buses and trucks on the two lane road.

No, it wasn't a special deal. Did negotiate the price down though. They were quite good; had a full car inspection on pick-up inside and out. I don't have the name sorry but have the phone number - the office is located in Parque Poblado just below Park Lleres (I hired from Medellin, not Bogota).
